A/V Technology Installation in University of Utah Learning Spaces Request Form
For A/V Technology Installations in University of Utah Learning Spaces
Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) installs audiovisual (A/V) technology in University learning spaces, such as classrooms, labs, conference rooms, and auditoriums. Specific technologies include projectors, large flat-panel monitors, speakers, screens, video conferencing equipment, collaboration spaces, and control panels to manage a learning space's technology components.
We consult with faculty, staff, departments, and colleges and design the technology components for a specific learning space. After approval of the request, TLT manages the installation process and coordinates various service groups and vendors who may be involved.
University Supported Installations:
A portion of University IT funds and Student Computing Fees are set aside each budget year for the specific purpose of installing, refurbishing and upgrading A/V Teaching Technologies in University learning spaces. These installations should be designated General Use/Access classrooms, labs, auditoriums, and seminar/conference rooms, available for use by any student, faculty, department or college.
On behalf of the University, Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) administers these Student Computing Fees for General Use/Access Learning Spaces (previously known as e-Classrooms). Installations follow the Standard Specifications for Audio/Visual Classrooms (Foundation Levels)
Apply for Funding through Student Computing Fees:
Many learning space installation projects may be eligible for funding through the University of Utah Student Computing Fee Awards (allocated annually), overseen by the University's Teaching & Learning Portfolio. Guidelines for submitting funding proposals are found at the overview page for the Student Computing Fees Learning Spaces Funding Proposals.
Self Funded Installations:
A college or department may want to install A/V equipment in a conference/seminar room, classroom, lecture hall, or lab that is wholly controlled and scheduled by that college or department, and is not primarily considered General Use/Access by the campus. Such installations and maintenance are usually paid for directly by a college or department. TLT is available to consult, design, and install these rooms for a college or department, leveraging our installation expertise and purchasing discounts. TLT provides quotes before any work begins.
